Christmas was great.  All the sicko bugs went away, and the kids got tons of stuff from us, the in-laws, and my side of the family.  New Year’s Day came and went.  So far 2009 hasn’t shown any difference to that of 2008.  I’m hoping this will change.

I go to the dr. tomorrow to get checked out and to finally get an ultrasound booked.  I am so ready to find out what I am having.  I’ll be happy no matter what it is, but I still want to know.

Cinco is being stubborn with the potty, and Jango is being stubborn as far as him listening to me.  In other words, they are doing just fine.

We may be going to Washington some time this month.  We shall see.

C and J update

So both kids had a Dr. appointment yesterday afternoon.  Both appts. went rather well, considering that Richard is still not very trustworthy of doctor considering what has happened, and I am as well to a certain degree.

There is nothing wrong with J’s head.  Even with a big bruise on his head which he created because he head butts and runs into things, the doctor just figured he did it and asked about his development, and he was ahead of schedule, just like his big brother.  He got three shots and  hemoglobin test, which was normal.  He didn’t cry about the needle, but he did once the vax was in his thigh.  But he calmed down rather quickly, as he always does.  J weighs 23 lbs.  and is 30 1/4 inches long now.

C’s face is almost completely healed, except for a stubborn patch on his chin.  We do the prescription medicine for his eczema for the recommended amount, even with not treating it for a week so the eczema doesn’t get used to the medicine and it not work, but his chin would just start to heal and not get better.  So Richard asked about it, and we could put it on for a month on his chin now instead of 2 weeks.  Hopefully that make it clear up.  He took a hearing test, or tried to, but he didn’t understand what we were asking him to do, so it didn’t work out.  They are supposed to attempt it at his age, but I’m sure he’ll better understand it next year.  He got one shot, and he thought he was in trouble when he got it.   I explained to him why he got poked,  and then he got over it quickly.  He went first because he only had one vax versus J’s three, and Richard took one kid out of the room at a time.  That way only one is upset at a time, not both of them.  Richard also hates to watch them get shots.  C is now a little over 27 lbs. (I thought he weighed more) and he is 35 inches long.  Little bro is catching up to big bro!

So both boys appts.  went well.  They behaved very well and got books from the doctor.  They were playing in the room while the doctor was talking to us.  And as soon as we got home, they took a nap.  It was a productive afternoon.

Jango’s doctor visit

So I find out that Jango has both of his testicles.  But here’s the thing:  one of them wants to go back in.   Apparently it has a name, but I don’t remember it.  Anyway, I was told it would correct itself, so no surgery.  Huzzah!  I’m thrilled to death that my baby doesn’t need folks poking down there to fix his “giblets”, as I call it (It started with Cinco and a diaper change.  I said that he was smooshing his giblets, and Richard laughed at it, so I knew it was a saying to keep around for a little while.  I didn’t want to say testicles out loud at the time.).

So now we must wait until Thursday, the day of Jango’s MRI.  I am seriously hoping that nothing is wrong with my son’s head.  MY husband will be there; I’ll be at work.  He’ll also be put under because he can’t stay still, which scares me to death.  I don’t want anything to be wrong.  I don’t want my baby to go under any knives, let alone get sewn up.  I am terrified.  Please pray for my family that nothing absolutely major is going to be wrong with my son, or that anything is wrong with my son.  I will be praying too.

Doctors visit

Well, here’s the debut of the family blog. And the first post is about my oldest son, Cinco, and his doctors appointment. Jango had one too, but I couldn’t make it, so I am going to reschedule it for early next week.

Cinco has had a bad eczema breakout on his face for a while now. We put on the hydrocortisone cream as told the last time we went to the doctor, and even tried a Neosporin type medication to get the scabs on his face to heal. Nothing seemed to be working, so we thought it was that he was allergic to something, particularly food. Hence the doctors appointment.

Richard took him to the doctors because I made the appointment on his day off, and I would’ve went, but my asthma was acting up, so I stayed home with the youngest. First off, Richard had to hassle with the new insurance he got from his job. That seemed to have taken forever. Then later on in the appointment, they accused my husband of being a bad parent by not getting him into the doctor sooner. We took him to the doctor right after his second birthday, when the problem was getting bad. They found that in their records later, but come on!

So now I have an antibiotic cream to put on his face twice daily, a stronger version of hydrocortisone cream to put on his face twice daily, and some cream called Aquaphor, which is a mosturiser, to put on his face four to five times daily, and once on his body, for two weeks. It already is starting to work, which is great because the other way we were doing it, you would see something a week later or not at all. Then it is the follow up visit. I was told that the dermatologist that they finally referred us to gave him these medications, not the doctor. The skin appointment was on the same day, so Cinco was sent over there after the initial doctor visit.

Hopefully I’ll update about Jango’s visit to the doctors. His will be just a check-up and immunizations.
