To get caught up

A lot has happened in the past few months since I published last, and unfortunately, this will be the condensed version of those few months.

Easter came and went.

Richard lost his job, and we moved in with my in-laws.

My third son, Kirk, was born.

Jango had his birthday, his second.

I had my birthday.

And, just yesterday, Cinco had his fourth birthday.  My boys are growing up so fast.  He and his brother are learning to use the potty.  We are working on getting them to go #2 in the toilet and for less accidents, but they are getting the hang of it.

Well, that’s it for now.  I hope to put in a longer entry later, but we will have to see how that goes.  Good night.

SF Zoo

Friday the family and I went to the SF Zoo for the day.  It was a fun trip.

We got a map and saw almost every animal that was on the map.  Of course, som e of them were hiding away, but they are wild animals, so one can’t expect them to be in front of the display all the time.  The only thing that I was kind of disappointed that they didn’t have was an elephant.  What zoo doesn’t have an elephant?

By far the kids favorite exhibit was the penguins.  We stayed at that exhibit for what seemed like half an hour.  They kept pointing to the penguins, waving at them, and watching them swim.  Jango kept saying “Hi, Puddles!”, which is the name of his stuffed penguin he sleeps with at home.  When we finally left the exhibit to see other animals, they both waved goodbye and J said “Bye, Puddles!”

They got some toy penguins to remember the experience and the photo they take in the beginning of the tour.  I would love to do it again, but not the traffic!

Update on Baby #3

So the baby is doing well.  I go back to the doctor on the 24th.  I’m nnow a three week patient instead of a four week one.  So close to being here and I don’t know if I am totally prepared.  I’m sure I will be soon enough.

Cinco is getting so big on me.  He keeps singing the Spongebob Squarepants theme song.  He knows a lot of the words.  I don’t think he has caught on that he will be a big brother again though until the new baby boy is here.

Jango’s vocabulary increases all the time.  He knows Mommy has a baby in her tummy, but he sometimes points to his tummy and says “baby”.  He likes to kiss my tummy.  He is my affectionate child.  He loves giving hugs or kisses whenever he wants to, which I think is great.  He’s catching up to his brother in weight and height.

It’s weird to think that this year I’ll have a newbron, a 2 year old, and a 4 year old.  Amazing.  Now to get the oldest to use the potty!

So, I’m having…

another boy!  Another little brother to run around and cause havoc.  We are thinking of names right now and have nothing concrete.  Will update as more information becomes available (meaning what we decided to name the kid!).

The kids are doing well and getting into things as boys do.  They are a tag team now: one won’t do something without the other one doing it too.  They like to get in trouble when I watch them but are good for daddy.  wtf?  oh well.  I’m still loved ;)

The Flores Family so far into 2009

Christmas was great.  All the sicko bugs went away, and the kids got tons of stuff from us, the in-laws, and my side of the family.  New Year’s Day came and went.  So far 2009 hasn’t shown any difference to that of 2008.  I’m hoping this will change.

I go to the dr. tomorrow to get checked out and to finally get an ultrasound booked.  I am so ready to find out what I am having.  I’ll be happy no matter what it is, but I still want to know.

Cinco is being stubborn with the potty, and Jango is being stubborn as far as him listening to me.  In other words, they are doing just fine.

We may be going to Washington some time this month.  We shall see.

Christmas time already?

It kind of snuck up on me…and since I was busy warding off flu viruses and cold germs, I didn’t realize until Monday that Christmas was indeed on Thursday.

Not that the kids will go without.  We did manage to scrimp enough together to get them a few things, and the grandparents will be spoiling them as grandparents often do.  I just think if a nasty flu or stomach bug wasn’t invading my home, attacking every human in its path, I would enjoy the holiday season more, and so would they.

Cinco only throws up at night, after I put him to bed.  Washing the same sheets again and again is no fun.  But he went to the doctor on Monday, and you know what?  Apparently he is getting better, since the time between him throwing up is getting longer and longer.  We have also regulated his diet, and the doc said that that was good.  The only thing she told my husband that we didn’t already know is to give more Gatorade than water, because he needs the caloric intake in the Gatorade and the electrolytes than what’s in water, which is…water.  So we have been doing that for over a week, and nighttime is the only time he gets sick. He hasn’t been acting like himself, either.

Jango acts if though nothing is wrong, but he’s getting over the bug too.  He hasn’t thrown up nearly as much, but he has thrown up.  So far he hasn’t done so today, and I plan to keep it that way.

Richard is still getting over this nasty nuisance slowly but surely.  He’s well enough to go back to work, but as soon as he smells the kids vomit, he’s yelling at me to take care of it.

And I got it least of all.  I had it for about two days, and that was that.  My throat was bothering me earlier today, but that has seem to go away too.

But enough about germs.  Today the kids and I are going to my in-laws for Christmas Eve dinner.  Tomorrow Christmas will be spent here at home, then the in-laws, and then my mom’s.  Some day soon we will celebrate Christmas just at our house and not worry about traveling everywhere with the kids.  It can be a hassle, especially when your car is full of presents!

Well, that’s enough this time around.  Merry Christmas everyone!  Now I am going to nap while the kids are asleep…

New profile picture, update

Hey, so I decided to change my profile picture.  I decided to choose the Creekwalk in Vacaville.  Why?  Because this is the place where Richard asked me to marry him.  I thought since this was the starting part of my family, I figures it was appropriate.

Now, on to the kids.  Cinco and Jango celebrated Thanksgiving at my in-laws this year.  They had a good time over there as usual.  I got sick, but I figure it is because of the pregnancy and my asthma was acting up.

Cinco is learning to sing the alphabet song.  He figured out that Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and the alphabet song have the same tune, so sometimes he sings them together.  He gets most of the letters, but loves to play with his Sesame Street school bus to learn his letters.  now we need to work on lower case as well as capital letters.

Jango is picking up words left and right.  He also picked up the same bad word that Cinco picked up from his daddy.  Richard was mad and cursed out loud, and Jango repeated the word back.  We went to visit the in-laws yesterday, and luckily he didn’t say the word until after we left.  The word would, of course, be “fuck”.  I haven’t heard him say it since then, but I’m sure it will come up when I don’t want it to.

Baby #3 is doing good and I go to the doctor Monday to see how everything is going.  I am supposedly due May 29th, but i figure I’ll have another June baby since every child I have had has been late.  But of course, every child is different.  So we shall see.  My sister in law is due about two weeks before me, so we’ll have to see about how we are going to handle each other’s deliveries.  Heck, we may deliver the same time!  Wouldn’t that be funny!

Well, that’s it in a nut shell.  Richard is doing all right considering that he doesn’t like his job and that his business isn’t doing as well as we would have liked.  But he’s got us, and that’s important to him.  Christmas will be good for him.

I forgot to mention the wedding!

My sister-in-law got married almost three weeks ago, and the ceremony was great.  It was also short, which was good because it was hot!  C and J were ring bearers.  J was being held by his daddy, and C rode in the wagon while his dad pulled it.  This was the only way they would have cooperated for the ceremony.  They went down the aisle first.

They either sat down or stood for the ceremony, and behaved very well.  They didn’t make any noise during the vows and the rings, and we were the last ones to leave the area in which the ceremony was held.  The female photographer (there were two photographers: one male and one female) took a picture of the whole family together.  I’m hoping to get a copy of this picture to hang in the house soon.

C and J took off their suit jackets and played a little bit in the reception area before eating some food.  They both had macaroni and cheese with strawberries.  Then when the DJ had mothers and daughters dance together, I got to dance with my boys.  It was fun.

The kids did get rambunctious after dancing and eating, but part of that was because of some of the other kids.  They were very well behaved, and because of that, we got them cookies from McDonald’s.
We then went to the in-laws for an after party, and when the kids were starting to get out of hand and act tried, we went home and put them to bed.  Overall, my children were angels and looked like little gentlemen for the wedding.  My sister-in-law was happy to be married, albeit parts of her ceremony didn’t go according to plan, but she loved having the kids in her wedding party.  Maybe they will be in another wedding in the future.  But only time will tell…

C and J update

So both kids had a Dr. appointment yesterday afternoon.  Both appts. went rather well, considering that Richard is still not very trustworthy of doctor considering what has happened, and I am as well to a certain degree.

There is nothing wrong with J’s head.  Even with a big bruise on his head which he created because he head butts and runs into things, the doctor just figured he did it and asked about his development, and he was ahead of schedule, just like his big brother.  He got three shots and  hemoglobin test, which was normal.  He didn’t cry about the needle, but he did once the vax was in his thigh.  But he calmed down rather quickly, as he always does.  J weighs 23 lbs.  and is 30 1/4 inches long now.

C’s face is almost completely healed, except for a stubborn patch on his chin.  We do the prescription medicine for his eczema for the recommended amount, even with not treating it for a week so the eczema doesn’t get used to the medicine and it not work, but his chin would just start to heal and not get better.  So Richard asked about it, and we could put it on for a month on his chin now instead of 2 weeks.  Hopefully that make it clear up.  He took a hearing test, or tried to, but he didn’t understand what we were asking him to do, so it didn’t work out.  They are supposed to attempt it at his age, but I’m sure he’ll better understand it next year.  He got one shot, and he thought he was in trouble when he got it.   I explained to him why he got poked,  and then he got over it quickly.  He went first because he only had one vax versus J’s three, and Richard took one kid out of the room at a time.  That way only one is upset at a time, not both of them.  Richard also hates to watch them get shots.  C is now a little over 27 lbs. (I thought he weighed more) and he is 35 inches long.  Little bro is catching up to big bro!

So both boys appts.  went well.  They behaved very well and got books from the doctor.  They were playing in the room while the doctor was talking to us.  And as soon as we got home, they took a nap.  It was a productive afternoon.

The three year old!

So Cinco is now three.  I didn’t realize how quickly children grow up and how old I must be getting.  He is doing so much at such a young age I forget that he can go to preschool and that he is going to go to school in a couple of years.  He had a family get together for his birthday.  We had a few friends over too.  He got some clothes, a bowling set, and some playground balls.  He ate pizza and his cake.  He blew out hus candle three times because he didn’t wait until we sang Happy Birthday to blow it out, so Richard had to relight it.  It was a great day.

On a Jango note, he is learning the “f” sound, and he says everything is a dog or a duck.  Oh well.  Progress can sometimes be slow.  But he knows cars and hi.  He loves to play with his big brother and hug his family.

Now to be with my hubby before going to bed.
