Thursday- Cinco’s first day of first grade, Cinco and Jango soccer practice, I work

Friday- I work, Cinco has school

Saturday- Opening day for soccer including parade and pictures, baby shower

And then we come to Sunday, where I catch up on chores I haven’t done and prepare for next week.  Busy bees we will be!

Cinco and Jango have their shin guards and we were able to swing cleats.  Cinco has a new backpack, as well as some supplies that my mom got for him.  They both have their soccer jerseys, socks, and shorts.  The school schedule is coming out early next week.  Everything seems to be in order, and the two oldest boys are prepared and ready to go.  So why does it feel like I’m not prepared for lots to happen this month?!

Well, part of it is that I am working full time during some of the days both boys will be going to school.  I also work through one of their soccer practices, and can only go to half of their games since I work every other Saturday.  I will see one practice during the week, and I get to see their pictures get taken.

The other part is that I’m not totally immersed in what the boys are doing.  My husband is now in that role.  He is the one who is staying home and accommodating my kids needs and taking them to school and soccer practice, while that was mostly my role just like August.  It is a complete role reversal, and one I am still learning to cope with.

So why title the entry the way I did?  That’s easy.  My children are entering a new chapter in their lives.  They are going to school.  They are participating in a group sport for the first time.  My husband has taken a lot of the burden off of me for a lot of things so I can work the 12 hours I work a day for 3-4 days a week, and I truly appreciate it.  All of us are getting back into the swing of things as far as the school year is concerned.

I will enjoy seeing the boys get up to get ready to go to school, even if I or Richard has to push them a little bit.  I will enjoy watching them get out of school and telling me about their day.  I will enjoy watching the older two run around in the field trying to learn the game of soccer and attempt to kick the ball.  I will definitely be the mama paparazzi when I can get a good picture of them running around during a game.  I will enjoy watching Kirk interact with just his parents for part of the day, and learn some new things from me or his daddy.

And, as I have found out recently, I will enjoy Cinco’s first loose tooth and the subsequent visit from the “Tooth Fairy”. I’m sure I will also enjoy the moment he finds out it is out of his mouth and the first grin he will have with a gap in the middle of it.

The only thing I am not looking forward to?  Waking up early to accomplish all this!

Well, summer vacation has pretty much came and went.  In about two weeks, I will have two children going to school, two children playing soccer, and one child envious of all his big brothers are doing. :)   So, here is the brief summary of June-August:

1. Cinco finished kindergarten at Sierra Vista before it closed for good.

2. Cinco attended a birthday party from a friend at school while Jango and Kirk attended their cousin Jaiden’s party.

3. Kirk turned two and Jango turned four.

4. We moved from the in-laws in Vacaville to a threebedroom house in Suisun City.

5. I had my birthday.

6. Cinco changed schools from Cooper to Callison to be with his current friends from kindergarten.

7. Cinco and Jango both got on the same soccer team, and will start practicing this coming Tuesday.

8. Jango will be attending preschool near the park will Cinco will be attending first grade.

9. Kirk is not autistic!!! Went to a specialist to see based on the boys doctors’ recommendation, and within a few minutes were told he is not autistic.  Thrilled by this news.

10. Lastly, my husband published his first short story.  It will be online at a site called Liquid Imagination and look for it soon! I will!

August will be a fun month, with soccer starting this coming Tuesday, Cinco starting school on the 18th, and Jango starting school oon the 22nd.  Kirk will be the only one staying home, but in to years that will change!

Spring break

I know I haven’t updated in forever, but I have busy with work again and the boys keep me busy too, so I get a double whammy as far as updating.  But here are a few things to note:

1.  The boys are registered for soccer for late this year.  The season starts in August.  Hopefully they will be on the same team, since this year their ages fall so they can be on the same team, so we shall see when team rosters come out in the summertime.

2.  Cinco gets out of school in June, and then gets to go to a different school for first grade since his school will be closing after this school year.  I’m a little upset he won’t stay at the same school for all seven years (K-6), but we were allowed to do an inter-district transfer to a different school than the one he would be assigned to.  We won’t find out if he got into the first choice school, which is Cooper, until May.  I’ll update when we find out.

3.  The kids birthdays are fast approaching, as are some holidays, such as Easter.  I will probably be working Easter, so Richard is on his own with the boys this year.  And who knows what we will do for their birthdays this time around.

4.  The boys currently love these shows:  Special Agent Oso, Bubble Guppies, Team Umi Zoomi, Penguins of Madagascar, and Phineas and Ferb.  The first two are Kirk’s favorites.

5.  I will soon have a child going into first grade and one going into pre-school (hopefully, if finances allow.)

Well, that’s it in a nut shell.  Hope to update more often, as things can change rather quickly with the three boys.  Time for some me time!

To get caught up

A lot has happened in the past few months since I published last, and unfortunately, this will be the condensed version of those few months.

Easter came and went.

Richard lost his job, and we moved in with my in-laws.

My third son, Kirk, was born.

Jango had his birthday, his second.

I had my birthday.

And, just yesterday, Cinco had his fourth birthday.  My boys are growing up so fast.  He and his brother are learning to use the potty.  We are working on getting them to go #2 in the toilet and for less accidents, but they are getting the hang of it.

Well, that’s it for now.  I hope to put in a longer entry later, but we will have to see how that goes.  Good night.

SF Zoo

Friday the family and I went to the SF Zoo for the day.  It was a fun trip.

We got a map and saw almost every animal that was on the map.  Of course, som e of them were hiding away, but they are wild animals, so one can’t expect them to be in front of the display all the time.  The only thing that I was kind of disappointed that they didn’t have was an elephant.  What zoo doesn’t have an elephant?

By far the kids favorite exhibit was the penguins.  We stayed at that exhibit for what seemed like half an hour.  They kept pointing to the penguins, waving at them, and watching them swim.  Jango kept saying “Hi, Puddles!”, which is the name of his stuffed penguin he sleeps with at home.  When we finally left the exhibit to see other animals, they both waved goodbye and J said “Bye, Puddles!”

They got some toy penguins to remember the experience and the photo they take in the beginning of the tour.  I would love to do it again, but not the traffic!

Update on Baby #3

So the baby is doing well.  I go back to the doctor on the 24th.  I’m nnow a three week patient instead of a four week one.  So close to being here and I don’t know if I am totally prepared.  I’m sure I will be soon enough.

Cinco is getting so big on me.  He keeps singing the Spongebob Squarepants theme song.  He knows a lot of the words.  I don’t think he has caught on that he will be a big brother again though until the new baby boy is here.

Jango’s vocabulary increases all the time.  He knows Mommy has a baby in her tummy, but he sometimes points to his tummy and says “baby”.  He likes to kiss my tummy.  He is my affectionate child.  He loves giving hugs or kisses whenever he wants to, which I think is great.  He’s catching up to his brother in weight and height.

It’s weird to think that this year I’ll have a newbron, a 2 year old, and a 4 year old.  Amazing.  Now to get the oldest to use the potty!
