Cinco and Jango grow up so fast!

Jango can almost sit up on his own! He is so close to doing it when someone helps him get up. He stayed up when Grandma went to say goodbye to her son and his girlfriend and her baby boy. Grandma took pictures, but she wasn’t home so I could look at them. He talks a lot more, and he loves to follow his older brother around.

Cinco has learned many new words, some thanks to me and his daddy, and some thanks to my sister, brother, or mother. He now knows these words as parts of the body: nose, ears, eyes, mouth, teeth, feet, toes, hands, fingers, thumb, knees, butt (he never says it, but I know he understands where it is when I tell him to sit on his butt), hair, and tongue. I think he also knows head and shoulders, thanks to the game we used to play based on that song, but he never says them anymore. I taught him “square” and “circle”, which he remembered almost a week later, and he now knows “tree” and “flower”. He is also almost three feet tall already. He is going to be tall like his daddy. He loves to go outside and look at everything. One of these days we should take him and Jango camping so they can both enjoy the great outdoors, as well as fishing so the boys can learn how to do it and it would mean a lot to me if this happens because my dad wanted to take them fishing, but didn’t get to. Cinco also likes the dog that the Flores grandparents have. He loves the hammock they have in their backyard, too.

Both children seem to have gotten some new personality traits, like Cinco seems to whine a little more than he used to, and, until recently, Jango didn’t want to crawl to anything to get what he wanted. We will have to work on Cinco and the whining and crying when he really doesn’t need to. And they both still need to learn more about sharing their toys, or taking each others toys while the other sibling is still playing with it. We shall see how this goes. These things will take time, and time seems to be a constant throughout our lives as of late. But they are happy, healthy, and seem to enjoy where they are at now.

Sicko bugs!

Both my kids are sick. They went to Urgent Care today, and came back with prescriptions for antibiotics. Jango has a nasal infection, while Cinco has an ear infection, first one he has ever had. Jango also needed some OTC medication for his diaper rash, which was luckily not a yeast infection. Meanwhile, my allergies are acting up because of those stupid cherry blossom trees, and Richard seems to be getting some of his chest pains here and again, but is otherwise fine. Stupid springtime!

Cinco and Jango are cranky!

Cinco and Jango were both rather cranky today. Cinco was this way because he thought he could do more things that he can get away with elsewhere, but not in the grandparents home ie- throwing a ball in the home when he should roll it. We tell him no, and he gets upset about it. We tell him to roll the ball, and then he feels a little better and moves on to something else. Jango was this way because he was hungry and because he has cut a tooth in the front of his mouth. That means more teeth to come! Cinco’s teeth came right after one another, and I have a feeling Jango will be the same way.

The kiddos will be spending an extended period of time at the grandparents house. They are taking care of them while Richard and I work and get the rest of the stuff out of the old place. They will know them inside and out!

Cinco said this word for the first time…

Chocolate.

We couldn’t figure it out at first, but I listened very carefully to what he was saying, and that is what I deduced. He then said “candy” because I mentioned something about chocolate being candy. My oldest is learning so fast.

Oh, and Jango is getting frustrated with crawling. He wants to be given toys right away instead of crawling to the toy and getting it himself. Hopefully this will fix itself when he starts to walk, which I am thinking may be soon. He is definitely getting some teeth. Finally!

Cinco helps feed Jango!

Today, while Richard was feeding Jango, Cinco was just standing next to him, watching what he was doing. So Richard asked him if he wanted to help him feed Jango. Cinco did not seem to understand him. So Richard tried to re-say what he said before. Cinco still did not understand. Richard then lead Cinco to Jango’s spoon, helped him grab it, and help Richard feed Jango a jar of bananas. Soon after feeding Jango a few bites with his daddy, Cinco fed Jango on his own, and did a really good job. He didn’t make a mess and tried to get just the right amount of food on the spoon to then feed his younger brother. It was cute and it made me happy that Cinco wanted to help out his brother.

Cinco is saying some new words, like “toy” and “chair”. Jango was talking a lot today too, like “Dada”. Well, that was really the only thing he said that I knew what it was! Jango is cranky because he is teething, but after holding him for a little bit, and then eating a jar of bananas, he was good. Cinco colored on some paper and told Richard that one of them was for Grandma, another new word he learned recently, so we will have to save the picture for Richard’s mom, who was called Grandma last time the kids saw her.

My kids are healthy eaters. Cinco ate two bananas after he had just ate. Jango had just ate but ate a jar of bananas. I love my little guys.

More on my two boys

Cinco is learning to say so many new things. He is increasing his vocabulary. He is becoming one smart little boy. He said “outside” the other day. He can also couint up to four. He is putting many words together to make sentences. Now if only he could learn to use the potty…

Jango is talking an awful lot lately. I think he wants to talk, but doesn’t know how to do it yet. He got mad when he sat with Grandma and Grandpa, but when I held him and moved around, he was fine with that. He still wanted to follow his brother everywhere, so i tried to move him where he could see Cinco. He was happy with that.

I now have two new pictures on my fridge that were colored by Cinco, one of Spongebob and Patrick, and one of Spiderman, which the color in nowhere in the lines. But they are awesome.

Jango in a wedding too!

Now I have heard that Carissa, my sister-in-law, wants both Cinco and Jango in her wedding. So now both boys are involved as ring bearers in her wedding. I was also told that they (the Flores family, that includes Carissa) want to get a wagon for the boys to pull them in in case they are not very cooperative. I don’t know if they will be. By the time the wedding takes place, Jango will be one, and Cinco will be almost three. They may not cooperate, but we shall see. So two cuties will be wearing little tuxes towards the end of August!

Cinco says sentences, Jango almost ready to sit up

I apologize for not blogging earlier. We are dealing with a family emergency, which I do not wish to discuss here in this blog. I may discuss it at a later date. I also had to deal with a move, so I am in a new location. I had to wait three days before I had internet access, so that was a pain. But now I am updating, so here goes:

Jango is stretching up to reach toys to the point where he could just roll up into a sitting position. If only he knew that he could do that! He gets too far over, and lands on his back. He then gets up and rolls back over onto his stomach. He is a silly little guy and likes to smile at his mommy and daddy.

Cinco is forming sentences. He said “Give it back” the other day, which was funny because we tell him that when he steals a toy from his brother. He said a five word sentence, too, but Richard and I don’t remember what it was. His favorite food seems to be bananas, which he calls “manas”, and requests whenever he sees some on the counter or on someone else’s counter. He turned 2 1/2 Wednesday.

Both boys are doing well together. After Cinco gets a toy, Jango wants to play with it either while he has it or after Cinco is done with it. Cinco is also saying his brother’s name on a regular basis instead of saying “baby”.

So I hope to update again sooner rather than later. But now you know what is going on so far in March!
